SASEBO, Japan (May 11, 2017) Quartermaster 3rd Class Brandon Martin takes bearing readings aboard the amphibious transport dock USS Green Bay (LPD 20) as the ship returns to its forward-deployed base of Sasebo, Japan during a Mid-Cycle Inspection (MCI). Green Bay, assigned to Commander, Amphibious Squadron 11, is conducting its MCI, which is conducted at the mid-year point prior to the Board of Inspection and Survey (INSURV) and is used to inspect and assess the material conditions of a ship.
