The small ferry, centre left, is the passenger ferry to Hoy and Graemsay. The building under scaffolding houses offices of EMEC, the European Marine Energy Centre and is the Orkney campus of Heriot Watt university. It is the old Academy. On the hillside is a very large house, deemed by the locals to be out of keeping with the other buildings in the town.
