A rare and attractive variety, growing 5 feet high, with large glaucous green leaves and bright yellow flowers 5 to 6 inches across, with a cone 2 inches high; flowers continuously from June to September. 25 cts. each; $ per doz. Newmanii. Dark orange-yellow flowers, with deep purple cone, borne on stiff, wiry stems, 3 feet high, admirably fitting it for cutting. Flowers from July to October. Nitida, or Autumn Glory. Large pale-yellow flowers during August and September; 5 feet high. Purpurea (Giant Purple Cone-flower). Flowers about 4 inches across, of a peculiar reddish purple, with a remarkably large, cone-shaped centre of brown, thickly set with golden tips in spiral lines ; forms bushy plants from 2 to 8 feet high, and blooms from July t > October. (See cut.) Sub-Tomentosa. A pyramidal, densely-branched plant, 2 j feet high, which is completely enveloped throughout the summer in a mass of brilliant lemon- yellow flowers with dark purple centres. Triloba. Forms a much-branched plant, 3 feet high, which is covered during August and September with medium sized attractive yellow flowers, with brown disc.
