Re-enactors recreate clashes between Polish and German troops during the 1939 Defensive War. The German invasion of Poland began at on September 1, 1939. More than million German soldiers invaded Poland, the German Air Force (Luftwaffe) bombed Polish military targets and civilians, and German warships and U-boots (Kriegsmarine) attacked Polish naval forces in the Baltic Sea. On September 3, Britain and France declared war on Germany, initiating World War II.
