Titration. Hand adjusting a burette tap to control the flow of potassium manganate (VII) solution into a flask containing iron (II) ions. The potassium manganate is being used to find out the concentration of iron (II) ions in the flask. The reaction of iron (II) and potassium manganate turns the solution colourless. The end point of the reaction is when the first trace of pink is seen in the solution. The volume of the potassium manganate (VII) solution used is noted. The other concentrations and volumes are known and allow calculation of the iron (II) concentration.
