An Afghan National Army soldier with 2nd Kandak, 4th Brigade, 215th Corps loads an illumination round into a 60mm mortar at Camp Shorabak, Afghanistan, June 10, 2017. Soldiers from the unit’s heavy weapons company practiced firing the non-explosive ammunition to boost confidence and build hands-on ability when using the weapon system. Approximately 15 Marine advisors with Task Force Southwest are assisting instructors with the Helmand Regional Military Training Center build the 2nd Kandak, 4th Brigade’s infantry skills as a means of bolstering security and stability in the region.
