Female wild Bengal Tiger cub walking on forest path in Bandhavgarh Tiger Reserve, India
This 7-month-old female tiger cub of a tigress known as the Mirchahni female was photographed one afternoon playing with her siblings on and by a main jeep track, as their mother had gone away to either hunt or patrol her territory. This image was shot even as the female advanced suggestively towards her brother to provoke him into a playful bout. The image captures some of the habitat and is rendered interesting by the play of light and shade as the mesmerizing forest was lit by the afternoon sun.
