Roosevelt Field on Long Island, New York, made extensive preparations to receive, anchor, and repair the British dirigible R-34 on July 6, 1919. The field was equipped with powerful searchlights, depicted in this photograph numbered 60658, to illuminate the field during nighttime operations. Taken by Sgt. Steniger, the photograph was received on July 17, 1919.
