Graphene is made up of hexagonally packed carbon atoms (red and green where green shows the upper graphene layer). It is highly transparent, thermally conductive, flexible, chemically inert, biologically compatible and 200 times stronger than steel. Graphene strongly interacts with light (red line) which makes it one of the best candidates for different photonic applications.
