Japan, The Meiji Festival celebrates the change of Japan's society entering the western world in 1867/8 when the Emperor Meiji (he died in 1912) was restored and moved from Kyoto to Tokyo. The political power was transferred from the Tokugawa Bakufo and restored by a group of Noblemen and Samurai. Meiji Japan was determined to find equality with the western rights went as far as human rights and a bill was passed in 1873 and religious freedom. It is also known as the 3, 5, 7, festival.
