The symptoms of what is called Potts fracture are quitemarked ; yet the patient, as soon as the injury is received, oftenreaches down and twists the foot back into place, therebyovercoming those prominent signs which so clearly indicatethe nature and extent of this complicated lesion. After thefoot has been replaced the limb appears so natural in contourthat the inexperienced practitioner may be led to supposethat no serious injury exists.
