In Arizona, from Nogales (Santa Cruz County), on the Mexican border (Oslar); in the Huachuca Mountains (Kunze) and Palmerlee and Garcia (Biederman), in Cochise Count}^; in the Santa Rita Mountains, elevation 5,000 to 8,000 feet (Snow); in the Santa Catalina Mountains (Schwarz), Sabino Basin, Santa CataUna ^Mountains, in Pima County, July 8 to 20 (Lutz and Relm) also Catalina Springs; and Oracle (Pinal County) (Wheeler), and in the Pinaleno Mountains, Post Canyon elevation 5,000 to 6,000 feet, Graham County (Wheeler). In Texas from Fort Davis, Jeff Davis County (Wheeler). (Fig. 56.) CONSTRICTOTERMES CINEREUS Buckley. Winged.—NQvy similar to C. tenui- rostris; of the same size and color, pu- bescence, and general structure. It differs in having the oceUi fulh* one- half their long diameter (about their short diameter) from the eyes. The pro- notum is a trifle longer and more nar- rowed behind, and the sides evenly rounded into the rounded hind mar- gin. The wings are paler in color than in 0. tenuirostris. (Fig. 58, 1.) C. strenuus Hagen from Vera Cruz, Mexico, is a very similar species, but the ocelli are very much smaller and still farther from the eyes
