The ne.\t day the movement was resumed, and the march lasted till nearlymidnight of the the 8th; tlie next day it marched again reaching nearly to Court House about 8 a. m., when the command was drawn up in linewith skirmishers deployed, and advanced under cover of a ridge; here the enemysent in a flag of truce, and hostilities ceased. The command marched through the town and was placed in position beyond,the brigade being ordered to receive the arms of the enemy.
