Exterior view of the Sgt. Edward Doan Armory in Portsmouth, Ohio following a two-year, $ renovation. Built in 1959 by the Army Corps of Engineers for use by the Army Reserve, the facility was transferred to the Ohio National Guard in 1996. In 1960, the facility was memorialized for Sgt. Edward S. Doan, a Portsmouth native who was killed in action during World War II.
