Tibetan pilgrims preparing to set off for Lhasa in the back of a truck, Ganzi, eastern Tibet. It's a ten day drive from Ganzi, over some of the most inhospitable land on the planet. For many of these pilgrims, travelling to Lhasa will be a once in a lifetime experience, fulfilling their dreams of seeing the Potala Palace and circumambulating the Jorkhang, buildings which represent the very core of the Tibetan Buddhists' existence. While buses ply the arduous route, many cannot afford the fare - opting for the back of a cargo truck instead.
