Quetzalcoatlus. Artwork of a group of Quetzalcoatlus pterosaurs flying over a lagoon with large sauropod dinosaurs wading in the water below. Quetzalcoatlus was an enormous pterosaur that lived during the Late Cretaceous ( million years ago). They were the largest known flying animals to have ever lived and had wingspans of up to 11 metres. Despite their enormous size, it is thought they were quite mobile on land, using their wings as front limbs and were even able to hunt for prey through stalking on the ground.
