BATON ROUGE, La. (Feb. 2, 2017) Mr. Anthony C. Smith, Office of Naval Research (ONR) education program director, talks about the Department of the Navy's (DoNs) Historically Black Colleges and Universities and Minority Institution (HBCU/MI) program during a visit to Southern University and A&M College. The DoN's HBCU/MI program is designed to increase participation of HBCU/MIs in the Navy's research, development, test and evaluation (RDT&E) programs and ensure faculty and students are aware of internships, scholarships and other funding opportunities through the Navy and ONR.
