Shiatsu massage. Foot of a woman receives shiatsu massage by a male practitioner. Shiatsu, or acu- pressure, is a form of alternative therapy first practised by the Japanese. Pressure is applied to specific parts of the body by the hand or fingers in order to treat physical illness in another part of the body. The technique is based on the same principles as acupuncture.
