Venetian arsenal, Gouvia, Corfu, Greece

The Venetian arsenal at Gouvia was a shipyard built by the Republic of Venice during their rule over the island of Corfu. It was located on the west side of what used to be called "Govino Bay", the current location of the modern village of Gouvia. The arsenal was built in 1716 as part of defences against the Ottomans. It was abandoned by the Venetians in 1798, when the Venetian Republic ceased to exist.
