Berlin 2009. Twenty years after the fall of the Berlin Wall which I photographed in 1989 for the Independent Newspaper I returned to photograph the changes that have happened over the past two decades. The former Nazi Air Ministry building used by the provisional East German Goverment in the early 1950's. In 1953 a new Mural titled, 'The importance of peace for the cultural development of humanity and the necessity of struggle to achieve this goal' by the artist Wolfgang Ruppel was erected here and dedicated to the insurgents of 17 June 1953. The building is now the German ministry of Finance. 2009
