Märchenbrunnen, Art Nouveau Fairty Tale Fountain by sculptor Ernst Moritz Geyger erected 1935,Von der Schulenburg Park,Neukölln,Berlin The fountain dates back to 1915 but it was only erected in 1935. The ornate structure with Gothic forms was named the ‘Symbol des Waldesdomes’ or ‘German Forest’. In 1970, the damaged fountain was renovated without restoring the bronze putti. Geyger's sculptures of a stag and a hind with a fawn, were replaced by the sculptress Katharina Szelinski-Singer with two limestone sculptures based on the Brothers Grimm folk tales Little Brother and Little Sister and Cinderella. In 2000/2001 the fountain was completely renovated. It was dismantled, the pieces were restored and a fountain room was built to house the necessary technology. The fountain was rebuilt in the same place and the bronze putti were also restored by artist Anna Bogouchevskaia. She produced fairy tale motifs to match the characters of Szelinski-Singer and with other putti featuring fantasy scenes. These 16 putti pour water from fish, buckets and through crowns into the water basin
