The section passes through the Falkland Islands and shows the proximity of the islands to the edge of the continental shelf. West of the Falkland Islands is seen the northern end of the bay of deeper water formed by the meeting of the channels separating the Burdwood Bank from the Falkland Islands and Tierra del Fuego. E. Section in lat. 540 10' S. The section passes through the Burdwood Bank and the coast of Tierra del Fuego. It shows a small bank lying in the deeper water channel separating the Burdwood Bank from the continental shelf. F. The section is taken on the sixty-fifth meridian between lats. 490 55' S and 540 45' S and shows the Burdwood Bank separated by deep water from the continental shelf south of the Falkland Islands. G. Section from Cape Orford, West Falkland Islands, to Cape San Diego, Tierra del Fuego. The section runs approxi- mately NE to SW, passing NW of the west end of the Burdwood Bank, and crosses the bay of deep water that runs northwards from the channels separating the Burdwood Bank from the Falkland Islands and Tierra del Fuego.
