Cosmonaut Aleksei Leonov (born 1934). Aleksei Arkhipovich Leonov flew on the Voskhod 2 mission, with Pavel Ivanovich Belyayev, from 18-19th March 1965. During this flight, Leonov became the first person to make a space walk. Belyayev never flew into space again, but Leonov was part of the 1974 Apollo-Soyuz Test project where Russian and American spacecraft docked in orbit.
