Stockpiled sulphur, Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. These large piles of the chemical element sulphur are stored at these docks in Vancouver awaiting export around the world. Canada is one of the largest exporters of sulphur worldwide, with most of the sulphur being produced as a by-product of the natural gas industry. Millions of tonnes of sulphur are transported every year through the Port of Vancouver. Sulphur is extensively used by the chemical industry, especially in the production of sulphuric acid.
