L MORTON CO., Manufacturers of Spirits Turpentine, Rosin, Pitch, etc*, 615 Nutt Street. The enterprise now known as the Geo. L. Morton Co. was origi-nally founded by Mr. J. Wilder in 1868. About 1872 the firm of Wil-. der & Morton was organized. In 1880 the title of the firm was changedto Morton & Hall. This continued till about 1888, when Mr. Geo. became proprietor. Finally, in 1892, the present companywas instituted. The company utilizes a plant at the above address,where all facilities are available, including stills and other appliances,employment being furnished for about fifteen operatives. The basisof the products manufactured is the sap of the North Carolina pine,the company buying the crude material as it comes from the of turpentine, rosin and pitch are the principal products, andthese of the best quality are placed at the disposal of the trade at thevery lowest current prices. The goods are shipped throughout theNorth generally, from the Altantic to the Pacific, and as regards tar,Pennsylvania takes large quantities.
