One variety may be worth much more than another and one grower's bunrh may not resemble another's in any other particular than that each is tied with a piece of string. In one wholesale house November 5 bunches were seen contain- ing three, six, twelve and twenty-five sprays and selling all the way from 15 cents to $ Most gro%vcrs bunch a dozen sprays, but if all did the same, l)rice then would vary with the variety. There are so many varieties he is a wise man who knows the names of them all. Among the best liked stock on the market are pompons grown to single stem, disbudded. The Doty varieties, pink and white, are most commonly seen, but the growers have been experiment- ing with other sorts and a considerable assortment is oflFered. The retailers say the public likes this stock. Carnations suffer because of the abundance of pompons. Violets and sweet peas are slightly more plentiful.
