ABl OilO MOHLER'S FLOWER SHOP demand is just about as large as in other years. On the whole, stock is not up to the usual standard. Among the seeds- men, the demand for vegetable plants is particularly large this year and, at time of writing, there appears to be no lull in the demand. Cut flowers are plentiful and the de- mand, in view of the intense heat, is considered good. The beginning of June brought in many wedding orders. Stock is getting cheaper as it becomes more plentiful. The supply of roses is large and a surplus is noticed. By the time they arrive, many are wide open and do not sell rapidly. These are dis- posed of by the street vender at 6 to 10 cents. Excellent stock arrives in Sun- burst, Maryland, Russell, Prima Donna, September Morn, Ophelia, Ward, Shaw- yer and Hoosier Beauty. Sweet peas, in all shades, are plenti- ful and are of good quality, but the stems are somewhat shorter. The de- mand, however, is good. Peonies are a glut in the market. The supply of car- nations is keeping up heavily, but the intense heat has done much to soften them and their keeping qualities are not at all good. Orchids are of excellent quality and the demand during the last week has been better. Snapdragons are fairly plentiful, the indoor stock begin- ning to decrease as the outdoor stock ar- rives. Stocks are finding a good mar- ket. Fine gladioli are seen and sell well. Each day a larger amount of outdoor stock arrives, among it myosotis, daisies, calendulas, pansies, mignonette, poeticus and valley. Ch
