Pvt. Liles, , is pictured here with the Ambulance Service and the French Army in March 1919. The ambulances seen in the photo were donated by members of the New York Cotton Exchange. These men served in the army from June 1917 and initially received only 5 cents per day as payment. They have also been recognized with a citation from the French. The photograph was taken in St. Die, Vosges, France.
