Hamilton became interestedin the study of law, and the fact that no man can servetwo masters ,: very soon became apparent. Brother Herdmann returned to Inshome in New York, and a few years later died there. Rev. John F. Brant was the next to serve us as pastor,coming in April, 1875. He was from Ohio, unmarried,and just completing his studies at the university. Heremained with us one year and did good work. Duringthe summer he visited his Western home, and then wasinaugurated the union vacation service with the Congre-gational Church, which was continued until the lastsummer.
