Danny Chivers from Art Not Oil which has put on a number of unscheduled performances in the British Museum against its sponsorship by BP, spaeks at the protest by staff at the British Museum whose jobs were privatised despite union oppositions and became Carillion employees and have been left in limbo after the collapse of the company. They demand that the British Museum talk with their unions, the PCSm and Unite, bring the staff back into direct employment and protect their jobs, pensions and terms and conditions. Speakers at the protest included PCS General Secretary Mark Serwotka, Clara Paillard, President of PCS Culture Group and Zita Holbourne. Shadow Chancellor John McDonnell MP had intended to be there but had to attend a privy council briefing and sent a long message which was read out. After a rally outside the museum main gate, the protesters marched around the block, protesting outside the management offices and the rear entrance before returning to the main gate to end the protest.
