Walter-type Climatic Diagrams for Ekalaka and Albion, Montana. Weather Station Location (Elevation) (Mean Annual Temperature) (Mean Annual Precipitation) (Period of Observation) Intensity and duration of relative humid season indicated by area between lines where monthly march of precipitation exceeds monthly march of temperature. The intensity and duration of a relative droughty season is indicated by the area between lines where monthly march of temperature exceeds the monthly march of precipitation. The difference between lines represents intensity and width is proportional to its duration. Axes are explicitly scaled so that 10 C = 20 mm (Walter 1973). Similiarly, the intensity and duration of relative dry periods is represented by the area where the monthly march of temperature exceeds the monthly march of precipitation with the axes scaled so that IOC = 30 mm (Walter 1973). Note: For relative dry periods, only the monthly march of precipitation is shown where it is below the monthly march of temperature. -40.
