Two saloon-keepers, who, by common consent, had violated the closing hour law, werearrested and fined. Resenting this interference, they threatened the lifeof the Loyal Temperance Legion boy—but did not cow him. He knewthat the saloonkeepers were cowards, that saloonkeepers had killed RoderickDhu Gambrell and George C. Haddock and Judge Cox and Dr. Beall. Hewas not bullet proof, but he and his Legion
