Suddenly the Yrankee was broughtalongside the British tender, and in obedienceto the watchword Lawrence the armed Ameri-cans rushed upon the decks of the Eagle, andwith a volley of musketry made an effectual cap-ture. In the me\6e the captain of the Eagleand a marine were killed, while two others of thecrew were wounded. During the afternoon of In-dependence Day the captive Eagle was brought.
