Budweiser advertisement circa 1892 for the Anheuser-Busch Brewing Company entitled “The Hostess”. The lithograph, by The Knapp Company, shows a young woman holding a bottle of Budweiser with a label in German and wearing a necklace bearing the Anheuser-Busch insignia “A”. Budweiser has been brewed and sold since 1876 when company founder Adolphus Busch set out to create the United States’ first truly national beer brand - brewed to be universally popular and transcend regional tastes. Anheuser-Busch is today the largest brewing company in the US.
