Light micrograph of a liver haemangioma, the most common type of benign (non-cancerous) liver lesions. Haemangiomas are made up of tangled clumps of blood vessels appearing as large vascular spaces full of blood (left half of image). The normal liver parenchyma is in the right half. Most are usually asymptomatic and diagnosed incidentally. They occur in approximately 5% of the population.
