Having done this, and procured a jugof whisky, he would return to his cabin, and, in the drivers language, enjoy a high old lonesome. That night we were in Raymond in time forsupper, and, finding our familiar sleeping car and our own porter, we weresoon speeding for San Francisco. Nothing of special note marked the trip from Raymond, unless it wasthe transfer boat employed at the crossing of the bay near Benicia. The. Fig. 84.
