In Arthurian legend, the young page Owen saved King Arthur from midnight murder at the hand of the evil Sir Turquine, whom Launcelot killed. The illustration by British artist Walter Crane is from King Arthur's Knights by Henry Gilbert (1911). It shows the young Owen after he has made his way to the king's door and is determined to warn Arthur about the plot.
