Sgt. Lanin captures a photograph on December 18, 1966, during the briefings of Sed. Leaders from the 2nd Pt. g Co. The leaders are being briefed by their plt leader, 2nd Lt. John H. Mentser, who hails from Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. This event took place during phase II of Operation Sierra in the Du Quang (2) hamlet, situated 15 miles south of Quang Ngai. The image was taken as part of military activities in the Vietnam War.
