The seed is some times sown in frames in February, with- out heat, and the plants set out in April, in rows a foot apart and ten inches apart in the rows. It is rather difficult to trans- plant, except in cool weather. The seed may be sown in the open ground in June, and the plants thinned to the distances already mentioned.
