In the moist, lower ravines where the fire was severe enough to com- pletely expose minereil soil, the seeded grasses exhibit high cover and volume (fig. 10). In microsites where the ravine was wettest, the fire effects were minimal. In these latter areas natural revegetation by the ground layer plants and the presence of unburned duff prevented establishment of seeded grasses on the ravine floor.
