The iconic Victorian Grade II listed Ferry Bridge was donated to Burton by Michael Arthur Bass brewery magnate who later became Lord was officially opened on Wednesday 3 April 1889 and the ceremony was attended by 8,000 to 10,000 was designed and built by Thornewill and Warham and is the only bridge of it's type in Europe
