The pictures by Sir George Harvey which have gained most public favour are those of historical subjects, and more especially those which represent famous incidents in the history of the Scottish of his works have been engraved and published. Sir George Harvey wrote, in 1870, an interesting memoir of the Royal Scottish Academy. He was twice married, but has left no widow surviving his decease'. From "Illustrated London News", 1876.
