This intravenous (IV) drug contains immunoglobulin (Ig) proteins, also known as antibodies, which are a component of the immune system. It is collected from human blood plasma and used to treat people with immune deficiencies, and to raise the number of platelets in those with chronic immune thrombocytopenic purpura.
