GOLDEN LEAVED—An interesting variety, with golden-yellow tinted foliage, and double white flowers in June. Verv conspicuous. LANCE LEAVED {LaTice/afa)—Narrow pointed leaves, and large, round clust- ers ot white flowers that cover the whole plant; a charming shrub Blooms in May. REEVESII FL. PL. (Reeves' Double)—Flowers white and double ; blooms freely in clusters. One of the best. VAN HOUTTI—One of the most charming and beautiful of the Spirses, having pure white flowers in clusters or panicles about an inch in diameter. Aston- ishingly profuse in bloom, and plants remarkably vigorous and hardy. But lately introduced from France and there is no more desirable flowering shrub in cultivation. Syringa (Philadelphus). All the species and varieties of the Syringa have white flowers, many of them quite fragrant. GARLAND {Corunariiis)—The common, popular shrub, with pure white, deli- cately perfumed flowers.
