BECAUSE OF THE STRIKE, 250,000 PEOPLE WHO NORMALLY USED THE BUSES HAD TO FIND ALTERNATE METHODS OF TRANSPORTATION, USUALLY THE AUTOMOBILE. DURING USUAL OPERATION THE METRO SYSTEM HAS 1,800 BUSES ON THE STREET DURING THE MORNING AND EVENING HOURS
