The National Guard Lifesaving Medal is presented to Sgt. Tyge Nelson and Sgt. 1st Class Nicholas Munsell for saving the life of a two-year old child earlier this year in northern Michigan. After rescuing the barefoot child from a ditch on a cold winter day, they worked with local authorities to return the child to his parents.
