Governor Roger Wolcott of Wind-sor left by will a tract of land on South street to his sonOliver, on which the latter built in 1752 the Wolcott Wolcott farm and farmhouse were on the other side ofthe street on the site of the Lindley and Andrews Oliver Wolcott was Governor of the state, one of thesigners of the Declaration of Independence, and took a mem-orable part in the struggle for freedom.
