Our Lady Help of Christians Catholic Church, Larimer, Pittsburgh

The church was built in 1898 when the Larimer neighbourhood up until the 1970s was predominately Italian (the area was known as Pittsburgh's Little Italy). From the 1960s the area fell into decline as residents began to move out. The once-proud brick houses are now either abandoned or neglected, and the residents, largely African-American, are among the poorest in Pittsburgh. The Church closed in 1992 and has for sale signs on display.
