PACIFIC OCEAN (May 2, 2017) Sailors perform pre-flight checks on an E-2C Hawkeye from the “Black Eagles” of Carrier Airborne Early Warning Squadron (VAW) 113 aboard the Nimitz-class aircraft carrier USS Carl Vinson (CVN 70) during flight operations in the western Pacific Ocean. The Navy has patrolled the Indo-Asia-Pacific routinely for more than 70 years promoting regional peace and security.
