Every section of the country where narcissi are being grown, from the Pacific coast to the Atlantic ocean and the Gulf of Mexico, was visited by the manager of our bulb department. We have selected our American grown Paper Whites with the same care that we have learned to take in purchasing imported bulbs; keeping in mind the requirements of the greenhouse forcer. We have chosen the stock of growers of experience, whose technical ability has been demonstrated, who are in locations of favorable soil and climate and whose stocks have been tested for forcing. And, above all, we have chosen stocks that are free from insects and disease and will not have to be given the heat treatment before shipment. Our narcissus bulbs will carry certificates under the federal quarantine giving them a clean bill of health. We caution florists against buying for forcing purposes narcissi which have re- ceived heat treatment, and bulbs from fields which were not dug last year and tested for forcing qualities. There will be plenty of them at cheap prices, so "Beware!" The fields from which our bulbs come were inspected at flowering time, to insure true type; and a further inspection was made at harvesting time. Grading of our California grown stock will this year have the personal attention of our Mr. Leonard H. Vaughan. Our Paper WTiite bulbs will come from selected fields in California and South Carolina and the Rio Grande Valley of Texas. These stocks have all been tested for forcing in soil
